Pokemon Platinum Nuzlocke Extreme Randomizer is just a simple hack ROM where there are randomized pickup items, wild encounters, pokemon starter, and increase the difficulty of trainers & more. You can play this game on Android, Pc, and Nintendo 3DS!!! So, this is my first randomized nuzlocke. I should explain the rules for those who don't know what a nuzlocke is: You can only catch the first Pokemon you encounter per route If a Pokemon faints, it is considered dead and must be placed in a box called “Graveyard” You have to nickname every Pokemon you catch So, without further ado, let's get right into this nuzlocke! PBG and Jeff attempt a Nuzlocke in Pokemon Fire Red. All Pokemon are randomized, as are their moves. PBG and Jeff don't have a strong knowledge on the series, so they struggle with Pokemon they do not recognize. A year later, they try again in Pokemon Leaf Green, which was much more successful. When it was released, it was the series with the most number of episodes on the channel, only to be.
The Universal Pokemon Randomizer is a program which will give you a new experience playing Pokemon games. In the same vein as previously released randomizers, it provides a customized gameplay experience by allowing you to randomize many things:
- The Starter Pokemon choices.
- The Wild Pokemon you encounter in grass, caves and other places.
- The Pokemon that Trainers use against you.
- The base stats which define the potential of each Pokemon.
- The elemental types of each Pokemon.
- The abilities of each Pokemon, in games where they exist.
- The moves that Pokemon learn by gaining levels.
- The contents of each TM which can be taught to Pokemon to give them additional moves (HM moves are not changed to make sure you can still beat the game)
- The ability of each Pokemon to learn each TM or HM move.
- The 'static' Pokemon which you either are given, fight on the overworld, or are sold.
- The names of trainers & the classes they belong in.
- The moves taught by move tutors, for games within which they are significant enough.
Naturally, you are able to choose exactly what is randomized in your particular ROM. If randomizing things like Pokemon types is just too confusing or unenjoyable, the randomization can be easily tailored to your particular needs.
Why use this randomizer?
It's universal. Every main series Pokemon game released in the US is supported, from Red to Black2 and everything in between.

You can easily create the same random game repeatedly. An important part of Pokemon is competition, and racing your friends to complete a particular random Pokemon game can be a great experience. By sending a couple of pieces of text or a small file you can easily make sure everyone has the exact same game to play with, without having to send around the entire ROM every time.
It's thorough. A decent amount of attention to detail has been invested in this randomizer and so pesky parts of the original games are unlikely to show through. For example, a trainer's random Pokemon will not suddenly use moves they were predefined to use in the original game - they will fully obey the (randomized or not) movesets they have been provided with.
There are small things it does to give you a better experience. When you randomize your ROM, you can choose to apply a few minor tweaks which make the experience more enjoyable in the environment you're likely to be playing the randomized game in. These include changing evolutions which require trading to no longer require trading (so you can obtain powerful Pokemon) and giving you the National Dex at the start of the game to allow you to look up Pokemon that were not intended to be available at the start of the original game.

Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee are very unique Pokemon games that require a very different set of rules. Here are the rules I will be following when getting a first encounter in a Pokemon LGPE Nuzlocke.
UPDATE: These rules have been revised. Click here for the revised rules.
Catching Pokemon: This is definitely the biggest rule change in these games. Since wild Pokemon are found wandering around in the overworld, it is very difficult to get a random encounter like in previous games. I originally considered standing still and waiting for the first wild Pokemon to bump into me, but I realized that this would prevent me from getting Pokemon that likely teleport and try to avoid the trainer, like Abra. Instead:
- I will allow myself to choose which Pokemon I want to encounter. After encountering the first Pokemon I bump into (whether it’s the one I wanted or one I accidentally run into), I may throw up to 5 Pokeballs.
- If I fail to catch it in 5 throws, I can still run into another encounter. HOWEVER, my next encounter cannot be of the same species as the previously encountered one. Of course, if there is only one species of Pokemon that I can catch in an area, this rule does not apply.
- For example, if I run into a Pidgey and fail to catch it, my next encounter can’t be a Pidgey. Let’s say my second encounter was a Rattata that I also failed to catch. My next encounter cannot be Rattata, but it can now be Pidgey again.
- In the end, I can have up to four encounters and if I fail to catch any Pokemon after my fourth encounter, I do not get an encounter for the area.
Nuzlocke Randomizer Rules
Gym Requirements: It has come to my attention that many of the Gyms have requirements to enter, such as having a Grass-Type or having caught 50 Pokemon. Obviously, this makes a Nuzlocke very difficult. I will try my best to abide by these requirements without breaking any rules. However, if absolutely necessary, I will allow myself to catch any Pokemon I need for a Gym. Obviously, these Pokemon will not count as an encounter and will be unusable during the Nuzlocke.

“Gym Training”: After playing through the game for a little while, I realized that it will be extremely difficult without being able to train Pokemon. In order to make up for this, I made up the rule that I can catch 6 Pokemon before each Gym, with one more added per Gym I’ve beaten. These Pokemon are solely to gain experience and must be sent to Oak. I can however use the Candy from this.

Note: I recommend using a different rule for training. It is near impossible to beat the game with this rule, much less without any training at all. I would recommend allowing yourself to catch an unlimited amount of Pokemon for grinding.

I have no clue how well this will work and how it will work with mechanics like fishing, but this is how I will go through with catching Pokemon. I will be sure to update this if I have any changes to my ruleset! At the end of the day, this is just how I will play it. Feel free to handle first encounters in any way you want!
