I am using lessons 1 to 3 of level 2 and 3 in English conversation classes at the University and Public Learning Center, respectively. Reasons for choosing this material are 1) that it has an abundance of audio and video material, 2) the contents serves a wide range of age groups, and 3) the readability of the text is very good. Being able to listen to English from speakers of various nationalities helps improving listening skills, and all audio and video, including pronunciation and grammar coach videos, are also accessible to the students themselves, so students enjoy their studies. In addition, the conversations used are very natural and familiar to people of all ages, the amount of information in the text is moderate, and it is easy to get into the mind, so that the lessons learned can be put into practice in subsequent conversations.

I used StartUp in my online classes. Its colorful page design with lots of photos and illustrations, abundant and diverse exercises, extensive audio and video teaching materials, and MyEnglishLab that allows you to review the learning contents in a game-like style, make it highly suitable for remote lessons. I think it was a great help to motivate students to learn independently. In my online classes, I used to assign writing tasks every time, and since topics vary even from lesson to lesson within the same unit, the variety of topics made it easy for students to write something. I also think that StartUp is attractive because it has a rich lineup corresponding well to the language level of the students.
